Probe into Danish children’s ski lift fall
The Accident Investigation Board in Norway is set to examine the reasons behind the incident where two Danish children fell from a ski lift in Hemsedal, Norway. The children, a six-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl, fell approximately ten meters on January 23rd, initially thought to be seriously injured, were later reported to have sustained minor injuries. They were with a ski instructor, who did not fall from the lift. The lift, ‘Lodge Express’, opened in December 2023, can transport 3000 people per hour, covering 501 vertical meters across 1814 meters at six meters per second. Norwegian police mentioned that the accident occurred as the children were getting on the lift, and there is no indication of a lift malfunction.
