Denmark to Host Powerful Global AI Supercomputer

The Novo Nordisk Foundation and Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund (Eifo) have announced their partnership with Nvidia to establish a center for AI innovation in Denmark, which will feature one of the most powerful supercomputers. This AI-optimized supercomputer aims to propel advancements in fields such as medicine, disease diagnosis, and treatment. The exact location of the new data center remains undisclosed. It will be accessible to Danish public and private sector researchers and is expected to initiate pilot projects by the year’s end. The Novo Nordisk Foundation has committed around 600 million kroner, while Eifo has contributed about 100 million kroner to this venture, which is seen as a technological leap forward for Denmark. An incorporated company formed by the foundation will own and manage the supercomputer, with Eifo holding a minority share of over 15 percent.
