Water park reopens after 18-day rat closure
The Reef water park at Quality Hotel in Frederikshavn reopens on Thursday after being closed since July 6 due to a rat sighting. Hotel director Marianne Bredevang announced the reopening following an extended rodent hunt, admitting the disruption caused by a single rat was unexpected. Pest control company Anticimex handled the situation, eventually catching the rat and its companion. This summer has seen an unusual rise in rat reports, often attributed to heavy rains forcing rodents from sewers. Claus Schultz from Rentokil indicated increased activity in regions heavily affected by rain. While rat complaints had been decreasing over the years, recent weather conditions have led to an uptick, despite better sewer systems and more effective eradication methods.
