SAS incurs a loss of 2.8 billion DKK in six months

Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) reported a loss of approximately 4.4 billion Swedish kronor (around 2.8 billion Danish kroner) from November 2023 to April 2024, according to the company’s semi-annual financial statement released on Thursday morning. During the same period, the airline company’s revenue reached 18.9 billion Swedish kronor, which is about 12.2 billion Danish kronor, marking a slight increase of over 12% from the previous fiscal year. SAS is currently awaiting approval from the EU and the Swedish legal system for its restructuring plan, which was approved by a U.S. bankruptcy court in March. The company expects to emerge from bankruptcy protection, initiated in 2022, during the upcoming summer, although this timeline is subject to change.
