Historic Coop and OK deal secured
The economic rescue plan for Coop, which involves the energy company OK acquiring about half of the supermarket group, has been approved. This approval was announced by the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority, formally endorsing the billion-krone investment into Coop. Announced in April, the deal grants OK a significant influence by taking over half the ownership of Coop Danmark. Coop amba, the association that owned Coop Denmark wholly, now shares ownership with OK, jointly infusing two billion krone into Coop Danmark. Furthermore, OK will take over 160 gas stations from Coop Denmark as part of the agreement.
