Hunger strikers seek dialogue with government
Five students have been hunger striking for a week outside Christiansborg Palace to halt all arms exports to Israel. Their effort includes seeking a dialogue with the government to discuss what the students call adherence to international law. One protester received medical attention after fainting from low blood sugar. Despite attempts, they claim to have been ignored by the government. The strikers, affiliated with various solidarity and activism groups, are prepared to continue until their health is at risk, monitored by a doctor. Culture Minister Jakob Engel-Schmidt is expected to visit them on Thursday. Previous attempts to engage with Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen outside Christiansborg were unsuccessful.
