Netanyahu confirms pager attack Approval

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office stated on Sunday, according to AFP, that he authorized operations against Hezbollah pagers in Lebanon on September 17th, leading to thousands of device explosions. Following the pager blasts, walkie-talkies exploded the next day in public spaces, killing at least 39 and injuring nearly 3000. While Hezbollah has accused Israel of the attacks and promised retaliation, Israel had not officially admitted involvement. In September, Israel deployed ground troops to Southern Lebanon to stop daily rocket attacks by Hezbollah. Since October 7, 2023, amid the conflict with the Palestinian Hamas movement, Hezbollah has been firing rockets at Israel, who has responded with airstrikes on multiple targets, especially in South Beirut suburbs. On Sunday alone, Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon resulted in at least 53 deaths, with nearly 3200 Lebanese killed since last October, over a million displaced, and 70 Israeli casualties.
