Nordea’s online banking restored after cyber attack

On Friday, many Nordea customers experienced issues accessing online banking services due to a cyber attack. By 9:41 PM, Nordea announced that both net and mobile banking were operating normally. The incident involved a DDoS attack that prevented customers in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland from using the bank. Mads Skovlund Pedersen, Nordea’s Danish Country Head, apologized and stated that the bank was working intensively to restore services. Nordea has faced several cyber attacks over recent weeks, with Pedersen revealing to FinansWatch on October 10th that the bank had been targeted for 25 consecutive days. He emphasized the complexity of the attacks but reassured that customer data remained secure.
