Cancer charity event raises 132 million DKK

Denmark’s ‘Knæk Cancer’ campaign collected 132.7 million kroner for cancer research and support, which was announced during the TV 2 program ‘Knæk Cancer – Et Show for Sagen’. This year’s amount exceeded the 113 million kroner raised in 2023 but did not reach the 2021 record of 169.9 million. It was the campaign’s 13th year, and the funds will be allocated to six focus areas, including children’s cancer research, psychological support, improved detection, and treatment of cancer, as well as supporting the elderly with cancer. The funds will also enhance the quality of aftercare for cancer survivors. Among the supported projects are a rehabilitation program for young cancer survivors and lung cancer treatment research. Over the years, the campaign has supported 506 projects. The final sum was announced by bassist David Vang, chosen by viewers of the fundraiser show.
