PostNord records major loss in 2023
PostNord faced a difficult year, posting a 592 million SEK pre-tax loss for 2023. This deficit includes a substantial 900 million SEK writedown in a Norwegian subsidiary. Despite these losses, PostNord Denmark lessened its shortfall from 286 million SEK in 2022 to 168 million SEK last year. Mail volumes decreased by 12% in the last quarter, yet the Q4 period showed the first operational profit growth since the pandemic for the group. CEOs Pedersen and Gardshol are focused on profitability and adapting to market changes. The Danish and Swedish state-owned group has subsidiaries across Scandinavia.
