Danish fund raises €12B for green projects

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has gathered over €12 billion for its new fund CIV to invest in renewable energy projects across Europe, North America, and Asia. 60% of the funds are pre-allocated for specific projects. The fund aims to add 30 gigawatts to the power market, serving about 10 million homes. Managing Partner Jakob Baruël Poulsen highlighted the strong support from global investors for CIP’s commitment to the green transition, buoyed by rising electricity demand, digitalization, and focus on energy security. The energy policy chief at Danish Business, Esben Tietje Mortensen, also welcomed the continued investor interest in renewables. CIP, founded in 2012, now oversees 13 funds with a cumulative capital of €32 billion for approximately 180 investors worldwide, demonstrating the private sector’s role in driving sustainable development.
