Hundreds march in Denmark for mothers worldwide
Around 730 people participated in a stroller march across five Danish cities on Mother’s Day to highlight global maternal mortality, an issue considered overlooked by Maria Lindhardt, political chief of the Sex & Samfund organization. Lindhardt emphasizes that 800 women and girls die every day due to pregnancy and childbirth complications, deaths that could be prevented with access to care like obstetricians in the poorest parts of the world. The event, in its third consecutive year, aims to prompt global action and raise awareness to decrease these numbers.
