Fogh urges NATO to commit billions to Ukraine
Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the former Prime Minister and NATO Secretary-General, recommends that all NATO countries allocate 0.25% of their GDP to military support for Ukraine. He presented recommendations on Tuesday from an international working group on Ukraine’s NATO membership. The group advises that Ukraine should be invited to accession talks in July during a summit in Washington and aims for Ukraine’s membership by July 2028. The group’s wider proposals include establishing a missile and air defense system on NATO’s territory near Ukraine’s borders, similar to U.S. assistance to Israel against Iranian missiles and drones.
