Two workers leave Cowi following documentary
Two employees at consultancy firm Cowi have resigned after a mutually agreed departure following the release of a TV 2 documentary titled ‘The Black Swan.’ The employees were suspended since the end of May pending an external legal investigation into Cowi’s involvement in the documentary, which explored ties between the criminal underworld and professionals such as lawyers and businessmen, using hidden cameras. Cowi was implicated as a partner in the property company 1927 Estate seemed unconcerned about proper supervision of contaminated soil disposal. A TV 2 review showed Cowi approved a project despite knowing the potential issues it could cause with the municipality. The investigation, conducted by the Kromann Reumert law firm, concluded Cowi’s supervision on the excavation did not meet the required environmental approval standards. Cowi has enhanced its quality assurance procedures and is implementing further measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
