Still mystery behind Copenhagen airport shutdown
The cause of the two-hour airspace closure over Copenhagen Airport on January 31 remains unclear. Engineering firm Niras, which operated a drone near the airport for leak detection, was initially thought to be involved, but the Danish Transport Authority later confirmed the Niras drone was not the cause of the closure. The drone had permission to fly after 23:00, when airspace was already closed. Police are investigating, but details are limited. Flight operations were halted at 22:41 and resumed before 00:30. Naviair, responsible for controlling the airspace, made the closure and reopening decisions.
