Councilman seeks forced removal of Criminals’ children

Christoffer Lilleholt, a councilman in Odense from the party Venstre, proposes the forced removal of children from parents involved in criminal activities, such as gang crime, after eight families linked to crime racked up costs of DKK 226.8 million for the municipality since 2009. He argues this action is necessary for breaking the cycle of crime and ensuring children have normal lives with education and job prospects. Lilleholt calls for legislative changes at the national level to prioritize criminality in decisions on forced child removal. The issue is pressing, as evidenced by similar challenges in Aarhus, where at least ten families cost the municipality over DKK 64 million each. The note from the Employment and Social Administration of Odense does not detail the crimes committed but confirms significant expenditures and recurring criminal patterns.
