Danes to travel to China visa-free

Denmark announces that soon Danish citizens will be able to travel to China without a visa, a change promulgated by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen and Wang Yi discussed the matter during the UN General Assembly in New York. While the exact date for the implementation of the visa-free policy is yet to be specified, it is expected to boost tourism and enhance exchanges between the two countries. The ministers also addressed green transition and trade issues. Danish Industry representatives celebrate the decision, highlighting the easing of administrative burdens for businesses and the implications for travel efficiency. Dansk Industri’s Peter Thagesen interprets the decision as a sign of China’s desire to forge closer ties with Europe and avoid trade conflicts. This move comes after extensive lockdowns in China due to the COVID-19 pandemic led to a mass exodus of expatriates.
