Police advise cyclists on Copenhagen’s rules
Copenhagen’s police have distributed flyers to tourists with Danish cycling rules to prevent accidents during the summer holidays. According to the press release by Copenhagen Police, the initiative has received a positive response from hotels. Henrik Brix, head of the local police in Inner City, highlights tourists’ uncertainty about the cycling rules, a concern also shared by hotels. The flyer, created by the Danish Road Safety Council, translates common traffic rules into English, detailing how to signal, where to ride, and other safety measures such as using bicycle lights after dark, wearing helmets, and not using mobile phones while cycling. The police urge Copenhageners to be considerate of tourists who may be inexperienced cyclists and to download the flyer from the police website. There is also a reminder that only one person should ride on a bike and small children should sit in a bike seat.
