Houthi claim capture of US-Israeli spy group
The Houthi movement in Yemen announced the arrest of an alleged ‘American-Israeli spy group’ according to their intelligence chief, Abdel Hakim Al Khaiwani. This follows their recent claim of having abducted about 11 UN workers. Although specific details about the detainees were not disclosed, the intelligence chief accused the group of espionage and sabotage activities targeting official and unofficial institutions for decades, favoring enemy interests. He stated that former employees of the American embassy in Yemen were part of this so-called spy group, and they, along with American officials, allegedly exploited their embassy positions for sabotage. After the embassy’s departure from Sanaa, the Yemeni capital, the accused individuals reportedly continued their activities under the guise of international and UN organizations.
