Vermund changes district despite success

Pernille Vermund is set to change her constituency from South Jutland to Zealand in Denmark’s next parliamentary elections, aiming to become the lead candidate for Liberal Alliance in Zealand. Despite her previous wins in South Jutland, where she received the highest personal votes in the district at 13,391 in 2019 and 15,375 in 2022, Vermund is looking closer to home as she resides in North Zealand. The move comes after she joined Liberal Alliance in January, having left the New Conservatives, a party she founded. A replacement for Henriks Dahl’s vacant lead candidate spot in South Jutland is available since Dahl became a Member of the European Parliament. Vermund’s potential lead candidacy indicates a collective decision to campaign with incumbent MPs Lars-Christian Brask and Sandra Skalvig. Vermund currently serves as the Liberal Alliance’s spokesperson for business and the environment.
