Denmark backs UNRWA work and reforms
Denmark is forwarding its annual UNRWA contribution, totaling 105 million Danish kroner, along with an extra 10.2 million kroner to support neutrality and reform initiatives. This decision comes amidst allegations of UNRWA staff’s involvement in a Hamas attack, leading to their dismissal. Israel banned UNRWA’s operations on its territory, a move that worries the Danish Foreign Minister. While Sweden pulled its support, Denmark stays committed, recently adding 75 million kroner in Gaza aid. UNRWA is deemed vital for providing shelter and vaccinations in Gaza.
