Israeli Strikes in Lebanon Continue into Wednesday
Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon persisted into Wednesday morning, marking the third day of operations according to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA). The NNA reports that the extent of casualties from the attacks is currently unknown. Meanwhile, air raid sirens have been activated in northern Israel and near Tel Aviv. The Israeli military (IDF) has intercepted and shot down a rocket fired from Lebanon, with no reported damage or casualties. Tensions have escalated recently, with at least 558 deaths in Lebanon from Israeli strikes since Monday, including 50 children and 94 women. Hezbollah claims Israel is behind recent explosions impacting their communication devices, though Israel denies this. The IDF has been targeting Hezbollah in Lebanon since last week’s incidents, with Israel’s Defense Minister affirming continued strikes until Israelis in northern regions can safely return home.
