Carlsberg reports billion profit in 2024
Carlsberg achieved a revenue of over 75 billion Danish kroner last year, an increase of around 1.5 billion from the previous year. Despite a billion deficit in 2023 due to write-downs on Russian activities, Carlsberg reversed its fortunes with a post-tax profit of 10.3 billion in 2024, surpassing analyst expectations of 6.8 billion. CEO Jacob Aarup-Andersen noted 2024 as a defining year, expressing satisfaction with the strong results amidst challenging conditions in key markets. Carlsberg sold its Russian business, Baltika Breweries, ending over 25 years in Russia, with a cash payment of about 2.3 billion kroner received. Recently, Carlsberg acquired British soft drink company Britvic, securing a deal with PepsiCo to distribute Pepsi in the UK. Britvic’s adjusted operating profit for the odd fiscal year ending September 30, 2024, was 250 million pounds, a figure Carlsberg anticipates to match in 2025. Overall, Carlsberg expects organic growth of one to five percent this year.
