Køge Municipality calls for independent inquiry

Køge Municipality has recommended an independent external investigation into issues at Borup School, following reports of students engaging in inappropriate behavior towards their peers. Mayor Marie Stærke emphasizes the need to determine if the municipality has properly managed these cases as per legislation. The inquiry aims to uncover any possible oversights. Measures already taken at the school include well-being plans and staff training. The mayor acknowledges past communication flaws and assures immediate improvement. Previous reports by regional media indicate incidents of violence and sexual assault among primary students at the school. Køge Municipality had previously acknowledged three serious episodes involving seven to ten children. Parents have criticized the school’s leadership and municipal handling of these events.
