Denmark commemorates Ukraine on 3rd Anniversary
Monday marked the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, commemorated by Danish royals, politicians, and ambassadors at a church service in Copenhagen. Business Minister Morten Bødskov called it a ‘terrible day’, hoping it will be the last remembrance for Russia’s brutal invasion. Current peace talks between Russia and USA exclude Ukraine and Europe, alarming SF leader Pia Olsen Dyhr who deems it unacceptable and concerning for European influence. Chair of Danmarksdemokraterne, Inger Støjberg, echoed the need for a Ukraine-led peace process, mistrusting Putin’s intentions. Bødskov and Konservative Folkeparti leader Mona Juul emphasized that Russia alone can end the war immediately. Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and top government officials were absent due to commitments in Ukraine and Brussels.
