Matas’ sales soar with swedish chain acquisition
Matas’ purchase of Kicks lifted its first-quarter sales to nearly two billion kroner, a 70% increase year-over-year. Organically, sales grew by 8%, minus acquisitions. Online sales jumped 21%, while retail sales saw a 3% rise, with the average purchase value at 199 kroner, up 5.9% from the previous year. Kicks became part of Matas last September, and physical stores yield 68% of total sales, driven by popularity in Matas Striberne supplements. In contrast, there was a dip in sunscreen sales due to less sunshine. Matas had its best year in 2023/2024 with a 6.7 billion kroner turnover. Their ‘Win the Nordics’ strategy sets a goal of 10 billion kroner in turnover by 2027/2028.
