A dignified end-of-life
The government has now chosen the members of a new committee that will “support and nuance” the government’s decision-making basis for a new model for a more dignified death, the Ministry of the Interior and Health writes in a press release. “The new committee will contribute to bringing out the different points of view and standing on an informed basis in our work to create a Danish model for a more dignified death in continuation of the tradition we have in Denmark for the care and treatment of palliative patients,” says Minister of the Interior and Health Sophie Løhde in the announcement. The committee chair is to be Parish Priest Kathrine Lilleør. She has recently reflected on her position on the issue and is no longer unequivocally opposed to euthanasia. She is accompanied by nine other members of the committee. The new committee is due to deliver its report in the second half of 2024. /ritzau/
