Donald Trump wins US presidential election

Donald Trump has been elected the 47th president of the United States, securing a return to the White House after serving as the 45th president from 2017. The Associated Press, based on extensive election data, confirms Trump’s victory following his declared wins in swing states Wisconsin, Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. This marks only the second time in U.S. history a president returns to office after a break, echoing Grover Cleveland’s non-consecutive terms. At inauguration, Trump will be the oldest president to take office, surpassing Democrat Joe Biden’s age when inaugurated in 2021. Trump’s victory was proclaimed hours after declaring himself the winner in Florida, accompanied by his family. He hailed the win as an unprecedented political triumph, and Republican candidate J.D. Vance called it the greatest political comeback in American history. Trump’s opponent, Democrat Kamala Harris, who entered the race after Joe Biden withdrew in July, has not yet commented on the result.
