Danish gang leader arrested in Dubai
A Danish gang leader has been arrested in Dubai, linked to violent conflicts in Copenhagen, reports svt.se, He is purportedly the right-hand man of notorious Swedish gang leader Ismail Abdo, known as ‘Jordbærret’. The pair are involved in a fight where young Swedes were recruited to use firearms and grenades in Copenhagen against members of the banned gang Loyal To Familia. Danish police confirm the arrest of a 30-year-old citizen intending to extradite him to Denmark, but they do not confirm his central role in the conflict. The suspect is believed to have played a part in attempted murders and weapon possession. The violence allegedly stems from a dispute over 700kg of hash that went missing, blamed on Loyal To Familia. It’s unclear when Denmark requested extradition from UAE authorities. Dubai has been a hub for serious European criminals. A Danish man was previously sentenced to 16 years for drug crimes managed from Dubai.
