Danes to prepare for crisis self-reliance
Denmark’s Defense Minister, Troels Lund Poulsen, has urged citizens to prepare to sustain themselves for three days with essential supplies in case of a crisis, emphasizing the need for readiness in light of potential hybrid warfare threats. Despite there being no immediate threat of a conventional attack, the escalating threat from Russia, including risks of hybrid attacks disrupting power supplies, necessitates public preparedness. The preparation guidance, intended to ease the workload on authorities during emergencies, is part of a larger public awareness campaign to be launched later, aligning with prior similar campaigns in neighboring countries. Poulsen seeks to balance reducing unnecessary fear with responding to the worsening security environment over the last year.
