SF vote catcher Jacob Mark leaves politics
Jacob Mark, a notable figure in Danish politics, is stepping down from the Folketing (Danish Parliament) on December 1st to take on a position with a private company. His decision was influenced by a health-related break due to stress in 2021, and a desire for a lifestyle change, including spending more time with his family and children. The most crucial reason for his departure is the joy and presence he felt with the birth of his son, Theodor. In the 2022 elections, Mark received the fifth-highest number of personal votes. He has served for 15 years, beginning in Køge’s municipal council and entering the Folketing in 2015. While currently the SF group chairman without spokesperson duties, Mark doesn’t rule out a future political return. He’s married to Christina Krzyrosiak Hansen, the mayor of Holbæk.
