Germans return to danish summer resorts
Germans continue their tradition of returning to Denmark’s summer houses, with 138,010 weeks booked for July and August, closely matching last year’s figures. These bookings hint at another successful summer for holiday home owners, according to economist Brian Friis Helmer. German visitors typically represent 65% of holiday house rentals in Denmark, with Danes comprising 25%. Recently, however, there has been a slight drop in Danish interest compared to the times around COVID lockdowns. Overall tourist overnight stays climbed to 6.2 million in May, which is a 4% increase from last year, indicating a robust year for the Danish tourism industry and its ability to attract tourists, as mentioned by Lars Bertolt Winther from DI Turisme.
