US increasingly key to Denmark’s exports
Danish exports to the US have risen, now accounting for 17.3% of Denmark’s total exports in the first 11 months of 2024, up from 15.3% the previous year. This growth is attributed to non-physical goods and services like maritime transport. Despite Donald Trump’s threats related to control over Greenland, no immediate concerns arise from the situation, but uncertainty may lead to worries. Exports to the US grew by 50 billion kroner compared to the same period last year. Notably, 80% of these exports are from factories within the US, likely unaffected by potential tariffs. This could be a strong position against potential US protectionism, according to chief economist Tore Stramer of Dansk Erhverv.
