Lawyer appeals to Supreme Court in Jes Dorph case
Lawyer Yvonne Frederiksen is taking her fine and conduct case to the Supreme Court following a ruling by the Eastern High Court. Frederiksen, who investigated TV host Jes Dorph-Petersen for TV 2, leading to his dismissal, was fined for not abiding by the professional rules. She did not inform Dorph-Petersen about the legal justifications for her assessment, crucial for his defense. Moreover, she inadequately dealt with the legal challenges associated with the historical offenses from 2001 and 2003. Frederiksen was fined 20,000 kroner and must also pay 50,000 in legal costs. Dorph-Petersen has taken steps against the law firm, including seeking compensation, with proceedings scheduled for January. The Bar Association had sided with Dorph-Petersen, prompting Frederiksen’s decision to appeal.
