Sorø academy headmaster charged
Kristian Jacobsen, the headmaster of Sorø Academy, has been charged with gross negligence and carelessness in relation to not properly fulfilling his duty to report a rape case. The case involved an allegation that a male student raped a 17-year-old girl. Although the student was charged, he was ultimately acquitted. The report comes from Ekstra Bladet, which confirmed the charges through written confirmation from Sydsjællands and Lolland-Falsters Police. The complaint against Jacobsen was filed by lawyer Julie Stage in September 2022, who acts as the legal aid for the acquitted young man. Stage contends that the headmaster’s delay in reporting the incident to the police, choosing to hold mediation meetings instead, compromised the investigation and led to the loss of potential evidence. As of reporting, the media has not been able to reach Jacobsen for comment.
