At least 28 dead in Washington D.C. air collision

Emergency services have found at least 28 people deceased after a collision between a passenger plane and a military helicopter in Washington D.C. John Donnelly, head of emergency services, stated at a press conference that there are no survivors expected. The crash involved an American Airlines plane with 64 on board and a helicopter with three. The incident occurred near Ronald Reagan National Airport. The passenger plane had skaters, their families, and coaches on board. U.S. transportation secretary Sean Duffy assured that the incident did not result from unusual flight patterns or communication breakdown. President Trump mentioned on social media that the event should have been prevented. Over 300 rescuers faced challenging conditions in the Potomac River. Condolences have been extended by global leaders, including Danish prime minister Mette Frederiksen.
