Danish firm with US owners to buy Aarhus Airport

Fairchild Denmark is in negotiations to purchase the financially troubled Aarhus Airport, as stated in a press release. Three weeks earlier, the airport mentioned dealings with an unidentified investor, but now Fairchild Denmark is confirmed. The Danish company, led by CEO Hans-Henrik Danielsen, is backed by Fairchild Aerospace Corporation from the US. Danielsen disclosed to Finans that negotiations are ongoing but they aim to secure at least 51% of shares for complete control over Aarhus Airport’s ownership, operation, and development. The airport has struggled with finances and finding a private investor. In 2019, owner municipalities injected 200 million kroner with the condition of securing additional private investment. Though a previous international deal was in discussion, it ultimately fell through, leading to a renewed search for investors.
