Municipality Drops Waste Firm Amid Nordic Waste-Crisis
SDK Shipping, responsible for handling a large quantity of soil at Randers Port from the landslide at Nordic Waste, has been removed from the task by the port’s director, John Morgen, and Randers Municipality. The municipality has now taken over the entire soil management responsibility. Nordic Waste, which may have contributed to the environmental threat, is owned by the same company that owns SDK Shipping, United Shipping and Trading Company. SDK Shipping was set to handle 25,000 cubic meters of soil from Nordic Waste, with an expected fee of 14 DKK per cubic meter, amounting to a total of 350,000 DKK.
