Rasmus Kragh reaches South Pole on skis

Danish adventurer Rasmus Kragh has reached the South Pole after a 63-day ski expedition, covering a distance of 1130 kilometers, becoming the first Dane to achieve this feat from the Antarctic coast. The 35-year-old, also known for climbing Mount Everest without artificial oxygen in 2019, embarked on this journey to challenge himself under harsh weather conditions with strong winds and temperatures reaching minus 40-50 degrees Celsius. During the trek, he dragged a 110-kilogram sled containing his tent and food supplies and had to retrieve additional provisions from a buried food cache due to insufficient calorie intake. The expedition, which began in late November, was documented through a podcast and website named ‘Alene Til Sydpolen’. His return is planned via airplane from a research station at the pole.
