E-Boks sold to capital fund CataCap

The Danish digital mailbox service e-Boks has been sold to the Danish capital fund CataCap by its current owners, Nets and PostNord, according to a press release. 5.3 million Danes have been using e-Boks, with 35 million visits monthly. CataCap, owning companies like Rekom and Group Online, aims to further develop the platform, enhance its functionalities, and improve user-friendliness. The sale, anticipated to gain regulatory approval within months, comes after Netcompany won the bid for the state’s digital post infrastructure in 2022. Reports from summer 2023 hinted at the potential sale of e-Boks, presumably valued in the hundreds of millions. In 2023, e-Boks generated a revenue of 186.8 million DKK and a pre-tax profit of 16.8 million DKK.
