YouSee strikes temporary deals amid rights dispute
YouSee has established temporary agreements with rights organizations Koda, UBOD, and Copydan Verdens TV to maintain order while their legal disputes are ongoing. The deals aim to create stability, allowing for a peaceful resolution. Despite ongoing disagreements on fundamental issues, these interim arrangements will provide time for the appropriate legal entity to assist in conflict resolution. The conflict arose after YouSee terminated their contracts with these organizations in March and sued them for expensive content access fees, seeking to reduce their annual rights payments from 600 million to 200 million Danish kroner. Following the new agreements, Crone Film has withdrawn its lawsuit against YouSee. These agreements enable rights organizations to distribute payments to rights holders during the litigation process, as stated by Jørgen Ramskov, chairperson of Copydan Verdens TV.
