Denmark signs 10-Year military support deal with Ukraine
Denmark has signed a ten-year security assurance agreement ensuring continued military support for Ukraine, announced by Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. Frederiksen highlighted Europe’s ‘most severe security situation since the end of the Cold War,’ noting Russia’s transformation into a war economy and the cleansing of political opponents. The agreement aims to facilitate Ukraine’s path towards EU and NATO membership and is part of European defense strengthening. The current Danish fund for Ukraine is funded until 2028, and the new commitment obligates support beyond this period.
