Group to distribute crisis guide nationwide

The Danish organization Folk & Sikkerhed believes citizens are underprepared for potential crises and plans to distribute a preparedness pamphlet across Bornholm in April, with future distribution to other parts of the country. The initiative, inspired by Swedish and Norwegian authorities, aims to make society more robust by encouraging families to ensure self-sufficiency for a week. Key motivators include climate change, and the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza. The pamphlet titled ‘What if?’ requires local partnerships to fund distribution, with current supporters including utility companies and Grejfreak.dk, an online store selling survival gear. While the store’s financial motive is acknowledged, the chairman Torben Ørting Jørgensen emphasizes the non-profit nature of the initiative. Unlike Sweden and Norway, Danish authorities do not have similar recommendations, but a government collaboration is underway to boost home emergency readiness.
