South Korean president postpones Denmark visit
South Korea’s President, Yoon Suk-yeol, has postponed a planned visit to Denmark that was scheduled for next week, according to a statement from the South Korean presidential office as reported by Reuters news agency. The Danish side has not officially announced the visit, yet it was previously mentioned on the Folketinget’s website that Yoon Suk-yeol would visit and meet the Speaker of parliament, Søren Gade (V), next Wednesday. Along with the Denmark visit, Yoon Suk-yeol was also scheduled to visit Germany to meet Chancellor Olaf Scholz. The postponement occurred following ‘consideration of various challenges’ and ‘consultations with both countries.’ No new date for the visit has been disclosed. Yoon Suk-yeol has been the president since 2022 and is serving a five-year term. The last visit by a South Korean head of state to Denmark was in October 2018 by President Moon Jae-in.
