Municipality plans for Alling Å’s future

Randers Municipality, after stabilizing a landslide at Nordic Waste, is considering permanent solutions for Alling Å’s restoration. Four expensive scenarios are proposed, which include restoring the stream in the initial valley, carving a new path through or around a hill, or redirecting the flow to Vissing Bæk. Estimated costs for each scenario are potentially up to 300 million kroner, while the original valley restoration is estimated at 30 million kroner excluding piping and pumping. Decisions on the permanent solution will involve a follow-up group, committees, and the council. Until a final decision, the stream will be pumped through pipes. The political group for Nordic Waste has begun reviewing temporary solutions to present to the council for approval. Mayor Torben Hansen highlighted the importance of deliberate decision-making in this next phase.
