Palestinians return to northern Gaza
Thousands of displaced Palestinians are returning to their homes in northern Gaza, as reported by media outlets like AFP, CNN, and Al Jazeera. Lamees al-Iwady, 22, tells AFP this is the happiest day of her life, despite being repeatedly displaced. Over 200,000 people have made their way back, many finding homes in ruins but are determined to rebuild, even using mud and sand. Crowds with children and possessions were seen heading north along the coast. Israel had previously blocked their passage but allowed it after confirming the planned release of Israeli hostages, including one woman they claimed was freed on Saturday. The ceasefire had been accused of being broken by Hamas, but Netanyahu agreed on Sunday evening for Palestinians to return home, with AFP reporting that Hamas confirmed the deal on Monday.
