Three U.S. soldiers have died after a V-22 Osprey helicopter crashed during an exercise north of the city of Darwin in northern Australia. according to Reuters. Five others have been transported to the Royal Darwin Hospital and have been badly injured. A total of 23 soldiers were on board the helicopter that crashed on the remote Tiwi Islands about 80 kilometres north of Darwin. The cause of the accident remains under investigation. Military personnel from Australia, the United States, Indonesia, the Philippines and East Timor are participating in exercises known as the “Predators Run”. /ritzau/
