North Jutland clinics suspected of fraud
Several doctor’s clinics in North Jutland, run in partnership with the medical corporation alles Lægehus, have been reported to the police over suspicions of fraudulent billing practices. This action follows an investigation by the DR program Kontant, which exposed highly unusual billing for services not received by patients. The North Denmark Region is scrutinizing services and payments across all clinics collaborating with alles Lægehus. Preliminary examination has raised concerns of systematic fraud, according to regional council head Mads Duedahl. One alarming practice discouraged seeing chronic patients due to a lack of consultation fees. Additionally, a clinic in Aalborg excessively performed psychometric tests compared to the regional average. Instructions were given to staff to prioritize additional services that offered higher earnings. However, the chairman of alles Lægehus clarified that these instructions are no longer active. The region intends to tighten supervision over general practice clinics to prevent future misconduct.
