Claes Antonsen exits The Antonelli Orchestra
Drummer and bandleader Claes Antonsen is pulling out from The Antonelli Orchestra after a Danish Broadcasting Corporation’s documentary ‘Sexism in the music industry’. Antonsen has apologized on Facebook for his sexist behavior towards women during the production of the TV show ‘Toppen af poppen’. Musicians Mathilde Falch, Stine Bramsen, and Katinka Bjerregaard recounted unwanted comments on their bodies and an overall ‘vulgar atmosphere’ created by a band member. After the revelation, Andreas Odbjerg, Medina, Drew Sycamore, Tessa, and Malte Ebert have refused future shows with Antonsen. Additionally, Skovriderkroen in Charlottenlund canceled a Christmas lunch event with the orchestra scheduled for November 9.
