Protest camp and university agree on talks

Students from the pro-Palestinian group ‘Studerende mod Besættelsen’ have agreed on real negotiation talks with the president of University of Copenhagen later in the week regarding their six demands. Ingrid Larsen, the group’s spokesperson, expressed optimism about the demands being met following a constructive initial discussion. The protest camp has been in place for a week, demanding full financial transparency from the university in relation to investments in companies connected to Israel and recognition and condemnation of what the group considers the ongoing genocide of Palestinians. Despite the positive nature of Monday’s talks, the student organization plans to maintain their active protest camp until the follow-up talks later in the week, indicating the pressure applied is effective.
